Custom Chat Wallpapers:

You can now set different wallpapers for individual chats. Just open a chat, tap on the three dots in the top right, go to Wallpaper, and choose a custom wallpaper.

  1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
  2. Go to the chat for which you want to set a custom wallpaper.
  3. In the chat, tap on the three dots (menu) in the top right corner.
  4. Select "Wallpaper" from the menu.

Disappearing Messages:

WhatsApp allows you to send messages that disappear after a set time. To enable this feature, open a chat, tap on the contact's name, and select "Disappearing Messages."

  2. Go to the chat for which you want to enable Disappearing Messages.
  3. In the chat, tap on the contact's name or the group name at the top of the screen.
  4. Scroll down to find the "Disappearing Messages" option.
  5. Tap on "Disappearing Messages."
  6. You'll be presented with the option to enable Disappearing Messages for that chat. Tap "On" to activate the feature.
  7. You can choose the duration for which messages will remain visible before they disappear. You can select between "1 hour," "1 day," "1 week," and "1 month," or you can customize the duration.
  8. After selecting the desired duration, tap "OK."
  9. Disappearing Messages will now be enabled for that chat. Any messages sent in that chat will disappear after the specified duration.

Please note that Disappearing Messages only affect messages sent after the feature is enabled. Messages sent before enabling Disappearing Messages will not disappear. Also, if a message is forwarded to another chat, it will not disappear in the forwarded chat. Additionally, users can still take screenshots or manually save disappearing messages, so use this feature with trusted contacts.

Dark Mode:

Dark Mode is easier on the eyes and can save battery life. To activate it, go to Settings > Chats > Theme, and select "Dark."

  1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner to access the settings.
  3. From the menu, select "Settings."
  4. In the Settings menu, tap on "Chats."
  5. Under the Chats section, you will find the "Theme" option. Tap on it.
  6. WhatsApp offers three options for themes: "Light," "Dark," and "System Default."

 

  •      "Light" is the default white theme.
  •      "Dark" activates Dark Mode.
  •        "System Default" will follow your device's system-wide theme settings. If you've set your device to Dark Mode, WhatsApp will also be in Dark Mode when you choose this option.

To enable Dark Mode, simply tap "Dark."

WhatsApp will switch to Dark Mode, which is easier on the eyes in low-light conditions and can help save battery life, especially on devices with OLED screens.

  7. Send your response as you would in a regular chat.

Pin Important Chats:

To keep essential chats at the top, long-press a chat and select the pin icon.

  2. In the chat list, find the chat that you want to pin. This could be an individual or a group chat.
  3. Long-press on the chat you want to pin. This action will select the chat and reveal some options at the top of the screen.

  5. The selected chat will now be pinned to the top of your chat list.

You can repeat these steps to pin multiple chats. Pinned chats will always appear at the top of your chat list, making it easy to access your most important or frequently used conversations.

Animated Stickers:

WhatsApp now supports animated stickers. You can find them in the sticker section when sending a message.

  1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Mute Chat Forever:

 If you want to mute a chat indefinitely, you can do so by opening the chat, tapping on the contact's name, and selecting "Custom Notifications."

  2. Find the chat that you want to mute indefinitely.
  3. Long-press on the chat to select it. This will bring up a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  4. Among the options in the toolbar, you'll see a speaker icon with a line through it. Tap on this icon to mute the chat.
  5. WhatsApp will then give you options for muting the chat: 8 hours, 1 week, or "Always." To mute the chat indefinitely, select "Always."
  6. Once you've chosen "Always," the chat will be muted indefinitely, and you won't receive notifications from it.

This is useful for muting group chats or individual chats that you don't want to receive notifications from but still want to keep in your chat list.

 

Custom Notification Tones:

You can set custom notification tones for different chats. Go to the contact's info, tap on "Custom Notifications," and choose your preferred sound.

  2. Find the chat or group for which you want to set a custom notification tone.

  4. In the chat, tap on the contact's name at the top of the screen for an individual chat or the group name for a group chat.
  5. This will open the Contact Info or Group Info screen.
  6. Scroll down to find the "Custom Notifications" option and tap on it.
  7. In the Custom Notifications screen, you can enable the custom notification tone by toggling the switch to "On."
  8. After turning on custom notifications, you can tap on "Custom Notification" to select a specific tone from your device's notification sounds.
  9. Choose the custom notification tone you prefer and save your settings.
  10. Your selected custom notification tone will now be applied to messages from that particular chat or group.

You can repeat these steps for other chats or groups if you want to set different custom notification tones for each. This way, you can easily distinguish between different chats based on their notification sounds.

Mark as Unread:

 If you want to revisit a message later, you can mark it as unread by long-pressing the chat and selecting "Mark as Unread."

  1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
  2. In the chat list, find the chat you want to mark as unread.
  3. Long-press on the chat to select it. This will bring up a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  4. Among the options in the toolbar, you'll see a blue dot icon. Tap on this icon to mark the chat as unread.
  5. The chat will now display a blue dot, indicating that there are unread messages. This is a visual reminder that you can use to keep track of important chats.

Please note that this method doesn't affect the read status of messages; it's just a visual indicator to help you remember which chats you want to revisit.

QR Codes:

 Share your contact info quickly by tapping on your profile picture and selecting "QR Code."

  1. Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner to access the settings.
  3. From the menu, select "Settings."
  4. In the Settings menu, tap on your profile picture or the "View all" option under your profile.
  5. You will see your profile information, and at the top, there will be an option to display your QR Code. It's usually labeled as "QR Code."
  6. Tap on "QR Code," and your personal QR Code will be displayed on the screen.
  7. You can tap on the "Share" button to send your QR Code to other WhatsApp users or share it using various messaging apps.

  6. Your call will be initiated, and WhatsApp will connect you with the selected participants in a group video call.

Archiving chats in WhatsApp is a helpful way to declutter your chat list without deleting conversations. Here's how to archive chats in WhatsApp:

On Android:

  3. Long-press the chat you want to archive. This will select the chat.
  4. In the top menu, you'll see a "box with an arrow" icon, which represents the archive function. Tap on this icon to archive the selected chat.

  2. In the chat list, find the chat you want to archive.
